Fiber optic equipment testing market on the rise

Networking tools that help test fiber optic cabling equipment are in high demand throughout Europe. As a result, the continent's market for fiber optic testing hardware is expected to rise dramatically during the next few years, according to a recent Frost & Sullivan study.

The study found that most of Europe is working to upgrade large-scale networks from old underground lines to fiber optic cabling solutions that can support high-performance internet services. Germany is leading the way in this movement, with a few other countries following close behind.

The growing interest in fiber optic deployments is leading to significant expansion in the testing market, as service providers are anxious to reach the market quickly. This is leading to high operational spending on testing solutions to support deployment.

The report said this growth is accompanied by more competition among network equipment vendors, as price to performance ratios rise and investments in the sector increase.

Large-scale projects to install fiber optic cabling over vast geographical areas are becoming more common. The Baltimore Sun reports many business leaders in Maryland are pushing for a project that will connect the state's optical lines and dramatically expand fiber optic's reach in the state.
